We’re seniors who are deeply alarmed by climate breakdown. We’re one in four Canadians. We have outsized political, economic and social power. We have a major role to play and we have motive, commitment and opportunity. And we vote!   

October 1st is Canada’s National Seniors Day. That’s when we will act Canada-wide on climate. Seniors For Climate in partnership with Small Change Fund, will take bold actions that demonstrate our growing concern about climate breakdown and our desire to rebuild a livable future. We won’t be around to see it, but we owe it to our children and grandchildren to know that their future won’t be a mirror of the past.

The Seniors Climate Day of Action is a joint project in collaboration with Climate Action for Lifelong Learners (CALL), Grandmothers Act to Save the Planet (GASP), Climate Legacy, Seniors for Climate Action Now! (SCAN!), Suzuki Elders, and Small Change Fund.

Seniors’ action will take creative forms across the land. Festivities and street theatre. Teach-ins and meetings with elected officials. Leafletting at farmers’ markets. Backyard gatherings. Rallies, marches, and demonstrations.
