Public transit has the power to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and help slow climate change – for all of us. More people will make the switch from private cars to public transit when transit is reliable, fast, and affordable.

That’s where the “Organizing Transit Users” project comes in. When you donate, our team trains and engages residents to act for better, more affordable transit for everyone – all over Toronto. The more people who are equipped to speak up for better transit, the bigger transit improvements we can win.

Everyone wins when public transit is high quality and well-funded because it helps tackle traffic and greenhouse gas emissions. Better transit also means a fairer city: those of us who rely on transit the most are more likely to earn lower incomes, be women, people of colour, or have a disability.

• Design and printing, so that residents can reach more people in their communities about acting for better transit.
• Translation for materials and  training events, so that diverse communities can activate their networks for better transit.
• Food and transit tickets for events, to reduce barriers to participating in civic action.
