JULY 22, 2021 – Stop Sprawl Hamilton is unstoppable! In just two weeks we’ve already reached 65% of the crowdfunding goal.

Over 3,300 acres of beautiful and productive land surrounding the City of Hamilton is at risk as developers seek to expand the city’s urban boundaries – irreversible and unnecessary destruction of prime agricultural land.

This urban sprawl is not only unnecessary but inefficient and environmentally unsustainable. Expanding the city boundaries will create small, car-dependent communities while draining resources from current city parks, transit systems, and schools. The city has plenty of room to grow within the present urban boundaries, an alternative that invests in Hamilton communities and makes use of existing infrastructure.
