Success Story: The Helen Hutchison Nature Reserve Becomes Reality

Success Story: The Helen Hutchison Nature Reserve Becomes Reality

November 8, 2022 – Our project to establish the Helen Hutchison Nature Reserve officially became a resounding success last Friday with the completed title transfer of 275 metres of riverfront property.

This key nature area is now under the long-term care of the Town of Greater Napanee. As an Ecological Gift, any changes outside of the accepted Stewardship Plan must be approved by Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Mr. Larry Davy donated his property in honour of Helen Hutchison, a committed volunteer in the Napanee community. He hopes his gift will encourage further protection of the Napanee River.
