Your contribution will help to create the Helen Hutchison Nature Reserve along the Napanee River. The privately-owned property is being donated to the Town of Greater Napanee for its long-term conservation as a place of nature.
On less than a hectare, this Napanee River property is home to three key habitats: a wetland, forest, and a meadow.
The Helen Hutchison Nature Reserve will protect 275 meters of riverfront facing Napanee’s King Street Park. Protecting both sides of the river conserves valuable riverfront for the benefit of the planet and everyone who depends on it.
Your donation will make the transfer of ownership possible. With your help, we can remove Wild Parsnip and other unwelcome plants, replacing them with native species. Your contribution will renew this forgotten gem.
We are grateful to the group of volunteers who provided some tender, loving care to remove an accumulation of garbage on this land. Now we need your support. Please help to make the Helen Hutchison Nature Reserve a reality.
