New Project: Safeguarding the Right of Canadians to have Naturalized Gardens

MARCH 2, 2022 – Naturalized gardens have many community and ecological benefits, including:

  • Improving air quality
  • Storing carbon
  • Preventing flooding
  • Producing a natural cooling effect
  • Providing habitat for native wildlife
  • Reducing water usage

However, habitat gardeners often have to fight local bylaws in order to protect their right to a naturalized landscape. We are appealing a decision against naturalized gardens in Smiths Falls, Ontario. A successful appeal will set a precedent and help other Canadians overcome obstacles by Bylaw Enforcement.

Help us empower communities across Canada to pursue naturalization and do their part to support biodiversity and environmental sustainability.
