In Memoriam: Daniel Teklu

AUGUST 18, 2021 – We are sad to tell you about the tragic passing of our co-worker, Daniel, who we lost suddenly on August 13th. Daniel brought enthusiasm and an infectious smile to the Small Change Fund team and it was a joy to work with him. He had previously worked in the private sector and was excited to make a difference with our organization. He introduced himself by saying, “Though my capacity is very small, I want to help people.” We will honour his memory by continuing to do exactly that. 

Daniel and his family immigrated to Canada just three short years ago to escape civil war in Ethiopia. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a son. Our thoughts remain with his family and friends.
