Update: Help Toronto Save its Green Spaces from Destruction
FEBRUARY 4, 2022 – Yesterday, Toronto City Council unanimously passed a motion calling for Metrolinx to suspend construction operations in Small’s Creek until a restoration plan is implemented.
The plan must be made available to the public, and drafted in consultation with pertinent agencies, including the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. Additionally, the plan must: preserve a walking path between the east and west sides, investigate the implementation of a “tiered retaining wall,” address noise concerns and incorporate consultation with the community and stakeholders. More details of the motion are available here.
