Helping farmers ensure their legacy

What happens when a generation of farmers and ranchers, many without successors, retire? In the next few years, thousands of acres of arable land in British Columbia will change hands. However, for aspiring young farmers, this land is often unattainable due to its high real estate value. Much of this land is thus at risk of development for real estate and recreation. 

Through this project, we helped retiring farmers navigate the complicated process of donating their land in trust. By doing so, we ensured these farmers could leave a legacy, as well as secured this precious resource for future generations of farmers – and their communities.
