We are delighted to congratulate the winners of the fourth annual Canadian Youth Climate Action Award! Held in partnership with Pivot Green, the award celebrates young leaders driving climate solutions across Canada. This year saw a record number of submissions, with 12 prizes awarded in total.
The top prize was awarded to the Sundance Commons project in Southwestern Ontario which provides land, tools and mentorship to marginalized youth to support them in building regenerative farming enterprises. Runner-up prizes went to the Lois Creek Stream and Wetland Enhancement project in Kimberley, B.C. and Alberta-based Civil Connect. Nine honourable mentions were also awarded.
With projects spanning multiple provinces and several with national reach, this year’s winners highlight the innovation, collaboration and leadership of young Canadians working across generations to address climate change. As noted by one of the judges, “Getting the chance to look through these incredible, inspiring projects, I was able to see them…as connected to each other, each working at their own scale yet fundamentally interconnected.”
