Seniors Climate Action Days

Raised:

$185,215

Goal:

$200,000

In 2025, seniors across Canada stood up for the planet like never before. From Earth Day to the fall Draw The Line national action, thousands of older Canadians made it clear: we refuse to leave a broken world behind. You made all this possible. THANK YOU. In 2026, the need for courage is greater than ever.

Thanks to your support, the 2025 Seniors Climate Action Days mobilized seniors at over 90 locations across Canada, from Vancouver Island to St. John’s. Thousands of participants, young and older, came together on Earth Day and in September to call for urgent climate action. You helped fund our organizing teams, outreach materials, communications, and the launch of our documentary Later Is Too Late. You made all this possible. And we’re deeply grateful.

Climate impacts are accelerating across Canada: extreme heat, wildfire smoke, floods, rising food and insurance costs. Growing worry about our children and grandchildren.

Yet just as the crisis intensifies, public conversation about climate is fading.

When people think they are alone in their concern, they stay quiet. When leaders don’t see visible concern, action slows. And when silence spreads, misinformation fills the space.

Silence has become the barrier. Breaking through the climate silence is now one of the most important steps toward climate action.

That’s why our 2026 campaign has one clear goal:

Break Through the Climate Silence — Create Space for Climate Action

Seniors for Climate will be stepping up again in 2026 to push for climate progress, strengthen Canada’s clean-energy transition, and protect our future. You are part of  a growing national movement — now over 5,000 members strong — proving that seniors are not bystanders. We are protectors, mentors, and organizers fighting for the generations that follow. Together, we can have a measurable impact.

What we’re doing in 2026

(June 1-7) – Seniors will share a national moment of conversation by hosting:

  • Climate cafés and conversation circles
  • Walk-and-talks and intergenerational dialogues
  • Community picnics and storytelling events
  • “Let’s Talk Climate” tables in public spaces

These welcoming events help people share their concerns, connect with others, and realize they are not alone.

Conversation → Visibility → Confidence → Leadership → Action

September — Turning visibility into political space. Building on the summer momentum  seniors will engage Members of Parliament through:

  • Constituency meetings
  • Letters and phone calls
  • Public events and community outreach

We will ask leaders to tell the truth about the climate crisis, move faster on solutions, stop making the problem worse, lead on renewable energy, and protect people and communities.

Donate today to help seniors across Canada break through the climate silence.

Seniors for Climate’s 2026 plan also includes:

  • Expanding our national organizing network with trained leaders in every province and territory
  • Launching communications campaigns connecting climate action to health, affordability, and security — the issues that matter most to Canadians.
  • Building and nurturing partnerships with Indigenous, intergenerational, and community allies to build unity and resilience.

Your donation will support:

  • Organizing and training local leaders
  • Outreach materials and translation
  • Digital tools and communications
  • National coordination
  • Media and public engagement

What if half our supporters gave $20 today? What if 200 people gave $100? We could fund a national wave of climate talk and action.

Please donate today and help seniors across Canada break through the climate silence and create space for climate leadership.

Your support fuels hope, courage, and action. Every dollar helps seniors take a stand for a livable future.

Join the fight. If not now, when? This is our moment.

From Caring to Acting. We Lead With Love, Not Fear
