Canadian Youth Climate Action Award

The Canadian Youth Climate Action Award, created in 2022 by Pivot Green in partnership with the Small Change Fund, celebrates the powerful leadership young people are bringing to the climate movement. Youth are already living with the consequences of climate change, yet they continue to rise to the challenge—organizing in their communities, influencing decision‑makers, and building innovative solutions that make a real difference.

Since launching the award, we have been humbled by the passion and creativity of applicants from across the country. In just four years, we have recognized 37 youth‑led projects and distributed over $60,000 in prize funding. The range of initiatives—urban agriculture, policy advocacy, education programs, conservation work, and more—shows just how deeply committed young Canadians are to protecting our planet.

One of the great joys of our work at Pivot Green is presenting these awards in person. We arrive hoping to encourage these young leaders, but every time, they are the ones who inspire us—renewing our energy and strengthening our commitment to expanding this program.

We are now ready to grow. With your support, we can reach more youth, attract more applications, and provide more funding to even more deserving projects. Countless initiatives across Canada are waiting to be identified, celebrated, and amplified.

Climate change is the defining challenge of our time. By contributing to this award, you are directly empowering the young people who are meeting that challenge head‑on.
