4th Annual Polar Dip

This month was the 4th Annual Polar Dip in support of protecting Georgian Bay from a proposal to develop a Hydroelectric Pumped Storage project. This development would destroy over 500 acres of forest and damage the habitats of approximately 30 at-risk species.

While the Dip is usually hosted in the Bay, due to the extreme cold and snow the 2025 Dip went virtual. Participants got creative and jumped in a cold body of water, dove into a snow bank and dumped a bucket of ice water over their heads, all in the name of raising funds to protect the Bay. The virtual nature of the Dip also means we have plenty of Instagram videos of folks participating from around Ontario!

This year the 17 participants raised over $14,000! Great job to everyone who worked so hard to make this initiative happen, and to all those who took the plunge!
